Dick Kramer specializes in military art prints for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and also creates prints for law enforcement and firefighters. The presentation of the artwork was held on Saturday, June 11, 2010 at the Dulles South Public Safety Center Open House.

Kramer is a Loudoun resident and his studio, Dick Kramer Studios, Inc., is located in Purcellville, VA. The drawing features the images of five Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies- Deputy Megan Jones, Sgt. Craig Schleiden, Deputy Jason Hough, SD Charlie Gravatte and Deputy Latriviette Young. The five are portrayed during the course of their duties. The artwork will be featured in the lobby of the Dulles South Public Safety Center.

Tricia Ratliff feels that enjoying fabulous color is akin to living passionately. From a dark, warm coffee tone to a lively green or electric red, she has focused her work on drawing out of passion in deeply pigmented realist oil paintings. Her goal is to capture a more important sense of truth (or sometimes humor) in each work by leveraging a gentle tug of war between realism and drama.

Tricia has studied both classical and contemporary realism with living masters from the United States and Europe.

Tatyana Schremko was born in China of Russian-Ukrainian parents, eventually arriving in the USA after several years in Eastern Europe and Germany. She attended the University of Pittsburgh, and received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from George Washington University. She continued her studies of sculpture in various media with several independent artists, with a focus on foundry work in bronze. Exhibiting and selling in various galleries in the Washington DC area, she has also received commissions for works in private homes as well as portraitures. Her work has taken first place numerous times; she was included in the Slide Projection of World-Wide Modern Art exhibit at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.

Tatyana’s work is very much influenced by memories of people from every walk of life when thoughts are least observed, a moment of quiet. These sculptures are her most abstract work; their large size and clean lines are designed to focus on this emotional introspection. Her representational work is very much involved with capturing the essence and personality in the portrait.

Leslie Mathis was born and raised in the small town of Cassadaga, New York. After receiving her BFA in Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, she moved to Winchester where she now lives with her husband Scott and son Samuel. While her preferred style is semi-realistic oil painting, she works in a variety of styles and media. She enjoys using light and color to convey mood and emotion in her work. Her work has been showcased at the “Art at the Mill” show in Millwood, VA, The Shenandoah Arts Council and Salute Wine Market in Winchester, VA, and First Night Winchester.

American artists Eric Markow and Thom Norris met in 1994. The two started collaborating on organically inspired stained glass window commissions for the next decade. Over the years as glass flame work and glass fusing became more popular, Markow & Norris began several years of experimentation to develop handwoven glass.

They imagined an art form that seemed impossible to comprehend and even more impossible to create. Inspired by the inexplicably complex framework of the natural world, Markow & Norris create enigmatically harmonious works of art. Each deceptively organic form requires extensive planning and flawless execution. The effect is tightly woven, vividly colorful and distinctive works, conceived with a marriage of science, art and alchemy.

Susan Makara has been an artist her entire life. She has held a variety of jobs in artistic fields, ranging from Asst. Art Director and Graphic Designer, to freelance artist for TV storyboards and cover art for Recorded Books, to owning a stained glass studio. Her work can be seen in private, public and corporate collections across the world.

Before becoming a painter, Kathy Beynette wrote fiction and poetry, to which she credits her narrative approach to painting. Her work is often regarded as whimsical and fun. Dr. Elisabeth Kessler from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences wrote, “Kathy Beynette’s work comes with an enormous depth of human feeling attached . Fun and caring without sentimentality. Straight to the heart pieces.”

Sheep Jones grew up in Maine. She studied art at the University of Maine at Portland/Gorham. Sheep works in oil and encaustic, and she has exhibited her paintings in several solo and group shows and galleries along the East Coast and in Eastern Europe.

She splits her time between living in the Washington DC area and Belfast, Maine.

Marvin Ford’s collection can be described as a body of work that reintroduces the viewer to overlooked beauties, controversial issues, hidden humor and realistic situations that we know exist but would like to dismiss. Viewed in its entirety, his intent is to stimulate every emotion of the viewer through the use of composition, carefully placed color and subject matter.

Homer describes his work as “figurative humanism,” often based upon classical, Biblical or contemporary themes. His sculpture and drawings of the human figure, portraits and animals, which he prefers to work directly from life, have been shown at museums and galleries in more than fifteen states in the USA, as well as London and Italy. Homer currently lives on a small sheep farm with his wife and young son, where he works on private commissions in his rural studio.
